Conquest Server FAQ by Miztah Program Descriptions: Conqd - This file is the main server for conquest. It is where all the game's functions are. Conqs - This file is the bot that connects the Conqd server to IRC. Download Page: The page in which Conqd and Conqs can be downloaded is http://www.conquestgamesite.com/downloads. If you are installing Conquest on windows, you get the files with 'win32' in the name and the file extension ZIP. If you are getting it for linux, you get the files with 'linux' in the file and the file extension tar.gz. Description Of Files In Conqd: - conqd - The main executable for Conqd. - conqd.conf - The main configuration file for Conqd. Edit this to suit your needs. - conquest.armies - This is the file that holds the information for all the units in Conquest. This includes the name, their strength, and their description. This can be also edited if wanted. - conquest.artifacts - This file tells the location of the secret artifacts in Conquest. Its a good idea to change the location of these (They all are Location* before edited) but do NOT re-arrange the artifacts. - conquest.banned - This file is used to ban people from newplayering in Conquest. To ban someone, enter their IP address, one per line, into it. - conquest.heroes - This file holds all the information for the heroes in Conquest. Its a good idea to change the Hero name in this (All are Hero* before they are edited) but do NOT edit the serve or rearrange the heroes. - conquest.items - This file controls the items that can be recieved in Conquest. You can change this, but do NOT re-arrange the items. - conquest.legends - This file holds all the legends that are shown when someone uses the 'mystic' command in Conquest. You can change this, but there is no reason to. - conquest.news - This file is read when someone uses the 'news' command in Conquest. Change this to whatever you want. - conquest.promo - This file is read to determine how much stats is needed to promote. Do NOT re-arrange the classes. This file should'nt be changed unless you know what you are doing. - conquest.ships - This file tells what ships are available in Conquest. Change this to suit your needs. - conquest.spells - This file shows the available spells for Mages in Conquest. Do NOT re-arrange the spells. Only modify the LEVEL, COMPONENT, ATTACK, or MOVE fields. - conquest.tips - This file is read when someone validates on Conquest. - license - Conqd license information. Description of Files in Conqs: - conqs - The main Conqs executable file. - conqs.conf - The main configuration file for Conqs. The port variable inside this file must be the same as in the conqd.conf file or it will not connect! - conquest.servers - The file Conqs reads to try to connect to an IRC server. Edit this to the servers you want the bot to connect to. - license - Conqs License information. Installing/Starting Conqd 1) First off, you need to download the conquest server. This can be downloaded at the address above. 2) For Windows, Use a ZIP extractor like WinZip, extract the files to a directory, c:\conqd for example. For Linux, use a extractor like tar. 2) Edit the files above to suit your needs for your Conquest game. 3) When you are ready to start your conquest in a new age: In Windows: open the Run dialog box (Start -> Run) and type in \conqd INIT. For example: c:\conqd\conqd INIT In Linux: Inside the conqd directory type ./conqd INIT 4) To validate to your newly started conquest, you can either use the Conquest WinClient, or Conqs which is explained below. The emperor's password will be 'emperor'. Please change this on initial validating. Installing/Starting Conqs 1) First, you need to download the conquest irc server. This can be downloaded at the address above. 2) For Windows, Use a ZIP extractor like WinZip, extract the files to a directory, c:\conqs for example. For Linux, use a extractor like tar. 3) Edit the files above to suit your needs. 4) To start up conqs: In Windows: open the Run dialog box (Start -> Run) and type in \conqs [channel to join]. For example: c:\conqd\conqs Conqs ConquestX In Linux: Inside the conqd directory type ./conqs [channel to join]. We ask you that you please do not start up a bot in #conquest on undernet. 5) If your bot successfully connects to the server(s) you put into the conquest.servers file, the bot will soon join the channel you entered under the nick you entered.
