I routed them before us, and reveled as the city folk fled this way and that... like chickens to a slaughter all the while screaming my name, "StarBrit3". I stopped my horse to better take it in. On one side a buxom maiden ran from a nearby tavern. I'd seen her before, and noted her for later. On the other a mounted archer ran his horse over a child running away. Precious.
The proud city of Aberystwyth was mine for the taking.
Barbarians are the masters of combat, for although their troops are untrained and weak, compared to other classes, they can drive their armies farther and harder than any other. Barbarians may hold 150 troops per castle, may attack fifteen times per HouseKeeping and may attack three levels down.
Disorganized and uncouth, Barbarians may not ally. Whenever they attack, however, they are joined by one of the many barbarian hordes which constantly threaten the borders of the Three Realms. Barbarians have no sense of, or use for honour. They may not undergo any sort of quest, as they have no Emperor to honour in doing so. On the other hand, their lack of honour means that they may visit the tavern as many times as they like, and they cannot demote in levels for dishonourable conduct.
When a Barbarian reaches the rank of Berserker, she gains many benefits. She may drive her troops to go Berserk, she may Loot an unlocked city and Beseige the garrison of locked city.
Peons(2/1)
Young Barbarians who have yet to prove themselves in battle or take
their Manhood Ritual, Peons are eager for their first taste of blood. Peons can be enlist'ed from the local peasantry, and, in turn, can be train'ed into Grunts.
Grunts(5/3)
Covered with WarPaint and wielding whatever weapon they can get their hands on, including those of fallen enemies, the Grunt is the mainstay of a barbarians horde, as they support the ballista.
Mounted Archers(3/3 fs)
The Hunters of the Tribe, the Mounted Archer combines the ability to run down their foes with the range of a
shortbowman, making them among the most versatile of warriors.
Warriors(9/6)
The most powerful Grunts, those who have survived battle after battle awash in the blood of their enemies, are promoted to the station of Warrior. They are respected within the tribe as generals,
law bringers and bodyguards to the Chief.
Bloodguards(0/0)
Barbarians would not seek out these boy toys for the Emperor, anymore than the Emperor
would deign to appoint them in service to a Barbarian.
Ballista(8/0)
The limit of technology that the barbarians understand, these mighty siege engines are built from stout wood found only on the mainland.
Warlords(12/8) The military heads of fallen Hordes, the Warlords were the best that their clans had to offer. Their survival is testament to their skills, and their sense of revenge fuels them in battle.
